Cynthia Ann Crawford was born on the 20th of February, 1966. She is an American actress, model and television host. In the 1990s and 1980s she was a well-known supermodel and was a regular in magazines and runways as well as in fashion campaigns. The following years she expanded her acting and ventures into business. Her sophomore year of high school, she received the phone number of an apparel store in the local area regarding modeling jobs. She later discovered that it was a prank call by two classmates. Crawford was contacted by a different store the next year to model for them. They also held the opportunity to shoot a fashion show. In her senior year, local photographer Roger Legel, whose duties included photographing a different college student to be the week's coed in the DeKalb Nite Weekly, asked to photograph her for the publication; the result was her first ever cover. Crawford was inspired to take up modeling due to the positive feedback and photo she received. She started with an agency with a small size. Elite Model Management bought it soon after she signed. In 1983 she entered Elite's Look of the Year contest at 17 and made the national finals.
