Christopher Peter Meloni was an American actor best well-known for his part in the well-known television series Law & Order Special Victims Unit'. In college, he began to develop an interest in acting. At the University of Colorado at Boulder where he was studying acting. Although he worked on TV and film, his roles on the small screen are what brought him much fame. It is no surprise that he has been able grab audiences' attention by playing characters who are on either sides of the legal system. He played the part of a serial killer on his debut television show and then went on to play the role of an NYPD detective. The actor has been nominated several times for the highly coveted Emmy Awards and the PRISM Awards for his small screen performances. The most appealing feature of his face is thought to be his piercing blue eyes, which are considered to be his trademark. They have aided in depicting tough characters that have charisma. People's magazine listed him as one of the Sexiest Men Alive for 2006.
